Performs microarray experiments, including sample labeling, hybridization, scanning, data acquisition, assessment of sample purity/quality. Also available: robots for high-throughput bacterial colony picking/gridding, and high-throughput liquid handling.

Microarray

  • RNA sample labeling, hybridization, scanning, and data acquisition for spotted microarrays.
  • RNA sample labeling, hybridization, scanning, and data acquisition for Affymetrix GeneChip standard Expression microarrays
  • DNA sample hybridization, scanning, and data acquisition for Affymetrix GeneChip Mapping and Tiling microarrays.
  • Production of custom spotted microarrays
  • Analysis of RNA sample concentration, purity and quality

High-throughput liquid handling

  • RCA DNA template preparation in a 96-well format
  • Custom high throughput liquid handling utilizing our Beckman Coulter Biomek FX liquid handling robot

Robotic bacterial colony picking

  • High-throughput bacterial colony picking and gridding utilizing our Genetix QPixII  colony picking robot.

Instrumentation available for you to use

You can:

  • Use our Axon GenePix microarray scanner to scan microarrays you have processed in your own lab.
  • Utilize our Qiagen TissueLyser to prepare samples for microarray experiments.
  • Assess microarray sample concentration and purity using our NanoDrop spectrophotometer.
Tours

Want to tour a facility at University Park, or arrange a tour for someone else? Contact the relevant facility director to schedule a tour.

Facilities are glad to assist with scheduled tours, e.g., for new faculty and students, potential hires, and student recruitment.

However, due to heavy workloads, we request that tours be set up in advance. We are unlikely to be able to accommodate "drop in" tours, because we are working on time-sensitive projects.
